Priorclave North America is proud to be an exhibitor at this year\u2019s California Higher Education Sustainability Conference (CHESC).<\/a>\u00a0Our research-grade autoclaves are part of a sustainable future for higher ed labs, especially with the continuing rise of energy consumption and costs.<\/a>\u00a0People are looking for ways to use less electricity, gas, and water \u2014 whether from a dutiful sense of environmental preservation or simply to save money, or both.<\/p>\n

Most US research labs are using medical-grade autoclaves because, until recently, that is all that was available. Designed for round-the-clock use by hospitals, medical-grade autoclaves consume 100-150 gallons of water per cycle to steam sterilize, flush cool, and come back up to temp. To protect these autoclaves from critical failure, they cannot be turned off, except occasionally for maintenance.<\/p>\n
