100 - 400L Autoclave
Front-Loading

A front-loading autoclave with a traditional cylindrical vessel is the best option available for research, education, and quality assurance facilities. A cylindrical chamber is better suited to high pressure micro-environments, requires less reinforcement and insulation, and suffers less wear and tear over the life of the autoclave. Each of our front-loading autoclaves is entirely custom built to your specifications, in terms of temperature and pressure levels as well as chamber size. A lower parts count, more efficient steam generation, lean cylindrical pressure vessel, and application-specific build don’t just reduce the purchase price: It results in a more reliable autoclave that costs much less to own, operate, and maintain.

All of our autoclaves carry the ASME stamp and are ETL listed to UL and CSA standards. Select models have been assigned a Canadian Registration Number (CRN). See our full accreditations for details.

Product Description

If you don’t need to sterilize flat trays of medical instruments, then you don’t need a rectangular-chamber medical sterilizer—and don’t want one. On an annual basis, a cylindrical-vessel front-loading autoclave can be expected to use 1/6th to 1/10th as much water and energy as a comparable rectangular model autoclave— that’s added savings on top of the lower initial purchase price.

The advantages inherent in using a cylindrical-vessel sterilizer become especially apparent with large-volume front-loading autoclaves. By eliminating corners, the cylindrical vessel improves steam circulation, preventing cold pockets and assuring complete sterilization without excessive cycle times or chronic failed loads.  Our largest models go head-to-head with comparable conventional 16×16 and 20×20 rectangular autoclaves, offering similar cycle times with lower maintenance burdens and substantial energy, water, and lifetime cost savings. Popular with community colleges, research facilities (small and large), universities, testing labs, and industrial operations.

Our front-loading sterilizers feature the programmable Tactrol Control System that allows for automatic steam sterilization with precise custom cycles and one-touch simplicity. The external panels of the steam autoclave have Biomaster Protected® Antimicrobial Surfaces to help defend against cross-contamination by bacteria, mold, and mildew. The autoclave chamber and door are made of ASME-certified 316L stainless steel for increased durability and reliability.

If your lab needs to sterilize very tall flasks, fermentors, or bioreactors, Priorclave also offers vertical autoclaves that load from the top. If you’re not sure whether loading from the top or loading from the front makes more sense for your lab, contact us and one of our seasoned experts can help you figure this out. Priorclave can find the right laboratory autoclave for your team, with options ranging from small chamber volume benchtop autoclaves to larger pass-through autoclaves.

Auto-waterfill

Automatically re-fills the autoclave chamber while the door is open ready for the next cycle. Requires a water supply. (Fitted as standard to electrically heated vacuum models)

Close

Air Ballasting

Controls distortion of semi-rigid containers, pouches and blister-packs as the autoclave cools by pressurizing the autoclave chamber with air, balancing the internal pressure inside the containers, pouches or blister packs. In autoclaves with water cooling jackets it controls volume losses when rapidly cooling liquid loads. Requires an external air supply at a minimum pressure of 3 BarG.

Close

Exhaust Filtration

On cylindrical profile Priorclaves all autoclave exhaust is directed through a 0.2 micron HEPA filter housed externally. The filter is easily accessed for regular changing and all non-filtered condensate is returned to the autoclave chamber.

Close

Drain Protection

Provides protection for plastic building drains by reducing the temperature of the autoclave exhaust. Requires a reliable water supply at a minimum pressure of 3 BarG.

Close

Adaptation for special water supplies

Electrically Heated Priorclaves require soft water with a conductivity of a minimum of 100 micro Siemens to work correctly. Various adaptations can be made to pipe work, fittings and water detection systems for Ultra pure water supplies if required.

Close

Air Intake Filter

Protects sensitive loads from contamination from the outside air drawn in as the autoclave cools.

Close

Condensate Collection Bottle

Where a drain is not available the autoclave exhaust is collected outside the autoclave for periodic disposal. Not suitable for vacuum models or sterilizing waste / discard loads.

Close

Double Door Override

Manual override of Double Door Interlock for Pass-Through Priorclaves – Allows operation from either end and single ended operation

Close

Factory Acceptance Test

Factory Acceptance test carried out with the customer at Priorclave’s factory after manufacture and before dispatch.

Close

Graphic Recorder Ethernet Port

Allows easy connection and integration to an internal computer network for remote monitoring and storage of records.

Close

Height Extensions – Benchtop Priorclaves

Extension legs fitted to the autoclave allowing easy cleaning underneath the autoclave

Close

IQ/OQ Documentation

Preparation of detailed IQ/OQ Documentation for testing purposes

Close

Mechanical Cycle Counter

Provides a mechanical backup to the autoclave control system’s built in cycle counter.

Close

Packing Crate for Sea or Air Freight

Wooden Packing Crate for air or sea shipping. Fitted with shock and tilt indicators and the wood used is treated to ISPM15.

Close

Pressure Recalibration

Where the autoclave is to be installed at higher altitudes an adjustment can be made to the autoclave alarms and settings to adjust for the differences in measured air pressures. Two bands are available: elevations between 900 and 2,400 M (3,000 to 8,000 ft.) – (0.9 to 0.75 Bar pressure) and elevations between 2,400 and 7,000 M (8,000 to 23,000 ft.) – (0.75 to 0.40 Bar pressure).

Close

Recorder – Circular Chart

Provides a temperature record of autoclave cycles independent of the autoclave control system onto a paper chart. Unless otherwise specified a fixed temperature probe is fitted. Multi-channel versions are also available.

Close

Recorder – Graphic – Logger

Provides a temperature and pressure record of autoclave cycles independent of the autoclave control system. Cycle records are graphically displayed and saved to a log file. Unless otherwise specified a fixed temperature probe is fitted along with a pressure transducer. Further recording channels can be provided along with the option of an Ethernet port for connection to a computer network.

Close

Recorder – Strip Chart

Provides a temperature record of autoclave cycles independent of the autoclave control system onto a paper chart. Unless otherwise specified a fixed temperature probe is fitted. Multi-channel versions are also available.

Close

Serial Communications Package

The autoclave is fitted with an external serial communication interface socket for connection to a suitable PC or laptop. The package includes a serial cable and software.

Close

Setting Lock

Tamper proofing of program settings for single program Priorclaves – Included on models fitted with multi-program memory options.

Close

TACTROL Self – Monitoring System

Provides an additional level of control protection. The Tactrol system scans all input channels to detect abnormalities and will abort the cycle with a displayed, logged and printed fault code and description if one is detected.

Close

Warranty Parts Only – 2 Years

Free of charge replacement of parts for two years. (Consumable items and damage due to misuse or negligence are excluded)

Close

Water Softener

Ion Exchange water softening system which provides water of the correct quality to run the Priorclave – requires regular refilling with salt to maintain water quality.
